Two bits of culture I forgot to comment on last week: The Spiderman movie and Pete Yorn's debut album "musicforthemorningafter". In their own way, both of these productions succeed perfectly because the fundamentals are executed brilliantly; whether it's the well paced story at the heart of the Spiderman film or the classic songwriting and unfussy production on Pete Yorn's record. Nothing we haven't seen before in either, but they deliver the mainstream with a quality and integrity that is becoming increasingly rare.
